Tuesday the 10th September saw the Friends of Edge Grove (FoEG) committee come together for a relaxed evening of drinks and nibbles. The FoEG has always been a vibrant community of parents who wish to work alongside the school in enhancing the school experience for all children at Edgegrove and creating a true family spirit. The evening was dedicated to thanking the 2018 -2019 committee who have worked tirelessly to organise a variety of fun and exciting social events throughout the school year and raise funds for school projects. It was evident to see how much this team has bonded over the last year with true friendships created and more importantly a desire from many of the committee members to stay on and continue to contribute to FoEG’s success. Memorable events include the Christmas Fair, Chinese New Year, Summer Fete, and the father – child camping night at Edge Grove. It was heartening to see so many new faces at the AGM this year where we also set about voting in a new committee. We were buoyed by the number of parent volunteers who are wishing to make a positive contribution to the 2019-2020 committee. Whilst several key committee members are staying on this year to provide stability and continuity, we are excited by all the fresh blood who will add a new dimension of dynamism to the team. The FoEG Committee 2019 – 2020 now comprises of around 22 individuals! Plans are already underway for the immensely popular Christmas Fair on 30th November so do watch this space for this and a whole host of other activities. Lastly, it is safe to say that the wine and snacks for the evening lived up to the usual Edgegrove standards. We are confident that this Committee will be achieving a whole lot more than any post-Brexit Government can!
